A Quick Update Notice for a prior post

Some time back I wrote about an ongoing project for getting (or is it “forgetting”??)  proper date ranges on vintage neon transformers.  It has been a topic of repeated discussions on the various neon related pages I am a member of and therefore I have tried to update it as I obtain additional information.

To that end, I have added a new update to that original post.  As before, the updated portion is at the end and denoted as an update with the date of the addendum provided.  You may find that post here:

Identifying and Dating Vintage Neon Transformers

Today’s update is regarding a 1947 Jeffereson transformer catalog that I recently obtained.  Jefferson was one of the high end manufacturers of the day…and curiously, they did not put any serial numbers or other obvious clues to a production date on their products.  I suppose they felt no need, either from a warranty standpoint or otherwise.  And it is true that most of the vintage Jefferson units I have encountered were still working and passed a load test perfectly.  In this update I have also highlighted a few interesting points, using them to place a more definitive date on a unit in my collection, and placed imagery and scans as appropriate.

Enjoy!
